【NEWS】The result of Climate Change Painting Competition-12th season

The winners of the 12th season climate change painting competition held by Taiwan institute for sustainable energy, Good Meal Time on Earth, have been announced. “It is impressive that numerous teachers have been guiding the students to the competition even in distance learning since the pandemic stroke Taiwan,” The event ambassador, Eugene Chien said.

"Different from the previous two years, the theme of this year's painting competition is focused on food challenges created by climate change. It symbolizes the second goal of “Sustainable Development Goals”, “Zero Hunger”, established by United States, gathering adults and children to discuss the food waste problems and diet styles. Moreover, the event advocates the reusable tableware and supporting local farmers, which is consistent with the 12th goal of SDGs, “Responsible Consumption and Production”. The artworks from children this year were praised by the judges for the creativity, sophisticated brushwork, the way to express the food problems and the survival issues of flora and fauna,” Eugene Chien pointed out.

This season, there are numerous children from around the world. Totally, 6486 children and teachers have participated from 14 nations, including the United States, Australia, the Republic of North Macedonia, Paraguay, Coratia, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, india and Bangladesh.

The climate change painting competition finals took place on May7th, which invited the president of Tai-Yang Society, Wu Long-Rong as a chief judge. The jury includes the curator of Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts, Liu Chun-Lan, the curator of Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, Li,Yu-Ling, the chair of the board of the Rural Economics Society of Taiwan, Jane Lu, the professor of National Taiwan University of Arts, Department of Fine Arts, Lin,Wei-Min, the illustration specialist of Children's Picture Book Painter, Tsui, Li-Chun, the chairman of Taiwan People's Food Bank Association, Ku Piling, the co-founder of Green Dining Guide, Ho, Chia-Ying. The judges from many different fields to decide the awarded works under the standard of original, content and expression. After three phrases of discussion and review, 337 domestic paintings and 160 international paintings are awarded.

This season of climate change painting competition is held by Taiwan institute for sustainable energy (TAISE), directed by Ministry of Education, Environmental Protection Administration and Council of Agricultural, Executive Yuan. This event is cooperated with Chung Tai Resource Technology Corp, CTCI Education Foundation, MERIT TIMES CO, Child Welfare League Foundation R.O.C., Taiwan Soka Association, Shin Kong Life Insurance Co, Zi Film. It is our pleasure to invite ARTCO Kids, ESPON, DR.JOU, Taiwan Environmental Information Association, National Science and Technology Museum, Taiwan People's Food Bank Association, Leezen CO as a supporter.

The catalogue of awarded artworks will be on the official website (painting.taise.org.tw). The artworks will be exhibited on Zhongxiao Fuxing Station, National Science and Technology Museum and the official website (Virtually).
